The female figure's hat, with its up swept duck tail is right in step with conservative fashions of 1890. I think they are a Scandinavian couple. The female figure reminds me of my Norwegian grandmother who never ever smiled, at least when I was around. These are great folk art sculptures. H. 8" & 9" c.
